Upsc Engineering Service Exam Ese 2021, UPSC is going to release the notification for the UPSC Engineering Services Exam (ESE) 2021 exam on the official website upsc.gov.in soon.  Candidates desirous of joining civil engineering or other fields such as engineering services will have to apply online for UPSC ESE 2021 to appear in the examination and be shortlisted for appointment.  Typically, UPSC announces vacancies under the ESE examination in the fields of civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and electronics and telecommunications engineering.  After the interview round, candidates are recruited for engineering services through prelims and mains examinations.

UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE) Eligibility Criteria 2021

Nationality

Candidate should be a citizen of India / Subject of Bhutan and Nepal / Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 / Person of India who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia  , Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

To prove their nationality, candidates are required to produce a certificate obtained by the Indian authorities to validate their claim.

Age Limit

The minimum age limit to apply for UPSC ESE is 21 years and the maximum age limit is below 30 years.  However, this upper age limit is relaxable up to 35 years for the following government employees:

* SC / ST – 5 year

* Other backward classes – 3 year

* The candidate dominated Jammu and Kashmir from January 1, 1980 – December 31, 1989  –  5 year

* Defense service personnel who were unable to operate during hostilities – 3 year

* Persons with Benchmark Disability – 10 years

Educational Qualification

To apply for UPSC ESE, candidates have to fulfill any of the following educational qualifications:

Degree in Engineering from a recognized University

  or

Passed A and B of Institutes of Engineers (India) examinations

  or

Degree / Diploma in Engineering from a foreign university / college / institute

  or

Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III of the Aeronautical Society of India

  or

Passed the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institute of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London

UPSC ESE Exam Pattern and Syllabus 2021

The UPSC ESE exam is conducted in two stages – Prelims and Mains.  The UPSC ESE Prelims 2021 consists of two objective type papers and the UPSC ESE Mains 2021 exam will be conducted in a descriptive format.  Take a look at the exam pattern of both the steps given below:

The Prelims Exam consists of General Studies and Multiple Aptitude Questions (MCQ) from Engineering Aptitude Paper and other papers in the concerned Engineering Branch.  There is a negative marking of 1 / 3rd mark for each wrong answer.  The number of candidates shortlisted for ESE Mains 2021 examination will be 6-7 times the total vacancies.
