The Staff Selection Commission has recently given SSC JE Recrcuitment 2022 Notification on the Official Website. Along with Notification, SSC has also released the SSC Junior Engineer Syllabus Details, SSC JE Exam Pattern & Selection Process. SSC JE Selection Process 2022
Based on the normalized marks scored in the (Paper-I) i.e. Computer Based Examination, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Paper-II. The Commission shall have the discretion to fix different cut-off marks in each part of Paper-I taking into consideration among others, category-wise vacancies and category-wise number of candidates. Final selection and allocation of Ministries/Departments/Organizations will be made on the basis of the performance of candidates in Paper-I and Paper-II and the preference of Ministries/Departments/Organizations exercised by them.
The selection procedure for Junior engineer Posts is following as:
- Paper – 1: Computer Based Examination
- Paper – 2: Written Examination (Descriptive Type)

SSC Junior Engineer (JE) Exam Pattern 2022 – Scheme of Examination
The Examination will consist of two Papers; i.e. Paper-I (Computer Based Examination) and Paper-II (Descriptive). Details of these Papers are as follows:
The candidates will be required to attempt the General Engineering part (i.e. Part-A, Part-B or Part-C) in Paper-I and Paper-II, which has been selected by them, on the basis of their Educational Qualification, in theonline application form.
In other words, the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil) / Junior Engineer (Quantity Surveying & Contracts) are required to attempt Part-A (Civil & Structural) of Paper-I and Paper-II and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) are required to attempt Part-B (Electrical) and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Mechanical) are required to attempt Part-C (Mechanical) of Paper-I and Paper-II failing which their candidature will be rejected.
The Paper-I will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions. Candidates are allowed to bring their own Slide–Rule, Calculator, Logarithm Table and Steam Table for Paper-II only. They are not allowed to use such aids for Paper-I.
The Paper-II will have to be written either in Hindi or in English. Part paper written in Hindi and part in English will be awarded zero marks. In Paper-II, candidates must write their correct Roll Number and Subject at
the prescribed places on the cover page of the Answer Book. Candidates must also affix signature and Left-hand Thumb Impression in the relevant columns in the Answer Book. Answer Books not bearing Roll Number, Subject, Signature and Left-hand Thumb Impression will not be evaluated and such candidates shall be awarded zero marks.
SSC Junior Engineer Syllabus 2022 – Details
The standard of the questions in Engineering subjects will be approximately of the level of Diploma in Engineering (Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical). The details of the syllabus are given below:
SSC JE Paper 1 Syllabus
SSC JE General Intelligence & Reasoning Syllabus
The Syllabus for General Intelligence would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test may include questions on analogies, similarities, differences, space nvisualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, etc. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationships, arithmetical computations and other analytical functions.
SSC JE General Knowledge / Awarenes Syllabus
General Awareness: Questions will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity and Scientific Research, etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

Basic concepts, Circuit law, Magnetic Circuit, AC Fundamentals, Measurement and Measuring instruments, Electrical Machines, Fractional Kilowatt Motors and single phase induction Motors, Synchronous Machines, Generation, Transmission and Distribution, Estimation and Costing, Utilization and Electrical Energy, Basic Electronics.
