JSSC PGT Teacher Selection Process
The selection of candidates for PGT Teacher will be done on the basis of Computer Based Test. Those candidates who will qualify the Written Examination, they will call for further selection procedure. The selection procedure are:
- Single Stage Main Examination (Computer Based Test/CBT)
- Final Merit List
- Document Verification
JSSC PGT Teacher Exam Pattern
The examination will be conducted in one phase (main examination). All questions in the examination will be objective type and have multiple choice answers. In question paper- (1), a question will carry full marks of 1 (one), while in question paper-(2) a question will carry full marks of 2 (two).
There will be two papers for Main Examination. This exam will be taken in two shifts. The duration of the examination for each paper will be of 3 hours. In Paper-(1), questions will be asked of graduation level, whereas in Paper-II, questions will be of post-graduate level.

In Main Examination, Questions will be asked from subjects including General knowledge, General Hindi Language Test, Relevant Subjects in which appointment is to be made. In below Sections, we have discussed the syllabus in detail.
Jharkhand SSC PGT Teacher Syllabus – General Knowledge
General Studies:- The purpose of the questions in this will be to test the general knowledge of the candidate and his ability in relation to their application in the society. Knowledge of current events and matters such as minute observation of day-to-day events and scientific attitude towards them which any educated person is expected to possess. In this, questions can be asked as much as possible, especially in relation to Jharkhand, India and neighbouring countries. Current Subject Scientific Progress, National / International Awards, Indian Languages Books Limited, Capital Currency Sports – Players, Important Events. History of India, culture, geography, environment, economic scenario, independence movement, salient features of Indian agriculture and natural resources and constitution of India and polity, political system of the country, Panchayati Raj community development, five year plan. General knowledge of the geographical location and political situation of Jharkhand State
General Science:- In the question paper of General Science, there will be questions related to general understanding and understanding of science based on day-to-day observation and experience, as from a well-educated person, who has Special study of science subject has not been done, it is expected.
General Mathematics :- In this subject there will be questions related to Mathematics, Elementary Algebra, Geometry, General Trigonometry, Mensuration. Generally matriculation / 10th in this. There will be class level questions.
Mental Ability Test :- There will be both verbal and non-verbal type questions. In this component, as many questions as possible related to the following can be asked, analogy, similarity and difference, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, visual memory and observation, relational concept, numerical reasoning, numerical number series and coding and broken interpretation etc.
Fundamental knowledge of Computer:- It includes various equipments of computer, M. S. Windows Operating System, M.s. Questions related to information about the method of office and internet operation can be asked.
Geography, History, Civilization, Culture, Language, Literature, Location, Mines, Minerals, Industry, Contribution of Jharkhand in the National Movement, Development Plans, Sports Players, Personality, Civil Achievements, Topics of National and International Importance etc.

Hindi language knowledge :- Under Hindi language knowledge, questions based on Hindi Unseen Passage and Hindi grammar will be asked.

- Detailed study of a literary age (19th century).
- This part will cover the study of English literature from 1798 to 1900 with special reference to the works of Wordsworth. Coleridge, Shally, Keats, Lamb, Hazlitt, Thackeray, Dickens, Tennyson, Robert Browning Arnold, George Eliot, Caryle Ruskin, Pater.
- Evidence of first – hand reading will be required. The questions will be designed to test not only the candidate’s knowledge of the authors prescribed but also their understanding of the main literary trends during the period. Questions having a bearing on the social and cultural background of the period may be included.
- This part will require first-hand reading of the texts prescribed and will be designed to test the candidate’s critical ability.
